Year 6 Home Learning – Friday, 23.10.20
Today’s Home Learning tasks are taken from the CGP Study books. There are no Zoom lessons today.
Children working from the Year 6 book should do the following tasks:
Maths
- Mental Maths Workout, p.1 – Exercise 1
- 10 Minute Weekly Workouts, pp.2-3 – Autumn Term Workout 1
- Maths Targeted Question Book, pp.2-5 – Year Five Objectives Test. This is an optional (non-compulsory) extension challenge. It is quite challenging in parts so take your time. You might want to complete it in stages over half-term.
English
- Handwriting Targeted Practice Book, pp.2-3 – Cheerful Conjunctions. This is handwriting practice and grammar revision together. When you are writing out the sentences, underline the conjunctions.
- Comprehension Targeted Practice Book, pp.2-3, ‘An Interview with Nixie Labs’. I will go through the answers to these questions when we have our first Zoom English lesson on Tuesday, 3rd November.
Children working from the Year 4 book should do the following tasks:
Maths
- 10-Minute Weekly Workouts, pp.2-3 – Autumn Term Workout 1
- Maths Targeted Question Book, pp.2-3 – Year Three Objectives Test. This is quite challenging in parts so just do questions 1-8 today.
English – Reading Targeted Practice Book, pp.4-5 – Black Beauty.
- Read the whole text 3 times. Try reading some of it aloud with expression.
- Circle any words of which you are unsure and find out what they mean.
- Underline the conjunctions in the passage. Remember, we have been working on conjunctions this week in class.
- Answer the ‘Consider’ question in your purple Learning Log book. I will go through your answer to this in our first Zoom English lesson on Tuesday, 3rd November.

A Times Tables Rock Stars battle has been set up between 6F and 6W for this afternoon (Friday, 23rd October) from 1-2 pm. Please log in then and take part.
Additionally, some non-compulsory work has been set on MyMaths for those of you who want to do it. You can do it today or over the holiday if you want something to do then.
