History

Year 4 Viking Day

On 3rd November Year 4 took part in a Viking-themed day at school. We all got dressed as Viking warriors and took part in lots of great activities. Olaf the Beardless from Viking School Days came into school and told us all about his life as a storyteller. He showed us some of his most precious possessions and told us all about life as a Viking. We also took part in a battle between the Vikings and the Anglo Saxons. At the end of the day, Olaf told us the saga of Odin around the fire. It was a brilliant day!

Cliffe Castle

Year 3 had an amazing time at Cliffe Castle learning all about the Stone Age, making timelines, handling artefacts and learning about life in Stone Age times. The children dressed up, placed events, artefacts and historical figures on a time line using dates. They used evidence to ask and answer questions, completed observational drawings and took time to look around the museum. A fantastic day had all round!
